Prior to the formation of Block Party, Max spent the better part of three years traveling the world for The New York Times, shooting the award-winning travel series “36 Hours” as well as the style series, “In The Studio”. He was nominated for an Emmy for his NYT Op-Video about Olympian Alysia Montaño.

His short film "Birding" premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and his commercial directing experience includes spots for Google, Hershey’s, Adidas, Fanatics, Vogue, GQ, Morgan Stanley, Zoom, and the Florida Panthers NHL Team. Max co-created and directed every episode of Block Party's first unscripted television show, Prospects for NBC’s SNY.
